We at The Phantom Unmasked are working to make our site www.the-phantom-unmasked.com accessible and interactive as possible to people with disabilities, especially as that is a major part of the story we are telling.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

I have done my best to adapt this site in accordance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines. This site's content has been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard navigation. As part of this effort, I have also:

Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues
Set the language of the site
Set the content order of the site’s pages
Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages
Added alternative text to images and audio transcripts on some specific images.
Videos have descriptions used as alternative text.
Audiobook versions are produced for each chapter as an alternative to screen reading.
Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast
Reduced the use of motion on the site
Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

Known Limitations

As this website is partially formatted like an arg, some elements may not be entirely accessible, though I am continually looking for ways to fix this.

This includes but is not limited to:

Audio-, visual, or video-based puzzles may not be fully accessible in every format. If you have trouble accessing different puzzles, please feel free to email grace@the-phantom-unmasked.com for alternative puzzles with the same answer.
Some pop-up or modal elements may not behave consistently with all assistive technologies or keyboard navigation.
Chapters may be posted before the audio version of that chapter is available, as it takes a bit of time to edit the audio. Though screenreaders would still work, I would be remiss if I didn't mention this.

Ongoing Efforts

This is an independent project, and currently, I am the only one running the website. I'm currently using Wix's platform tools and my own research to support accessibility. This is an ongoing process, and I intend to continue learning and improving the website experience for everyone over time.
